
A One-day Educational Program was organized by Bhaktapur & Kavrepalanchowk District Chapters of Human Rights Organisation of Nepal on June 5, 2017 at Siddhi Smriti Pratisthan, Suryabinayak.
Mr. Drona Pokherel, Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur District and Mr. Indra Prasad Aryal, President of HURON chaired as Chief Guests in the program.
The following individuals were invited as guests for the program.
Mr. Ram Krishna Manandhar, Chairman of Bhaktapur District Chapter Prof. Prithu Charan Baidhya, Ex. Dean, T.U Advocate. Hari Ram Lawaju, Human Rights Legal Expert and Trainer Dr. Chiranjibi Bhattarai, CCM, HURON Mr. Kiran Rana, Superintendent of Police Mr. Bhimsen Adhikari, Deputy Superintendent of APF Mr. Biswa Mohan Joshi, Ex. Chairman, Consultant Mr. Biswa Bahadur Duwal, Ex. Chairman, Consultant Mr. Biswa Ram Duwal, CCM Advocate, Mr. Hari Ram Lawaju facilitated the first session on Human Rights & Child Rights. Mr. Lawaju stressed on Evolution, Importance, Principles of Human Rights including Classification of Human Rights and Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Dr. Chiranjibi Bhattarai facilitated the second session on “International Human Rights Treaties (Six Core Conventions) and Human Rights in Constitution of Nepal, 2015”. Dr. Bhattarai stressed on the topics of ICCPR, ICESCR, ICERD, CEDAW, CAT, CRC, Human Rights in Contemporary Nepal & Sustainable Development Goals. There were a total of 70 participants in the educational program who came from diverse background with the objective of being inculcated about Human Rights. Individual participants, members of HURON, media personnel, Security personnel (Nepal Police and Armed Police Force) attended this program.
